【關於《別有天地—張敬創作紀念特展》】
藝術之所以不朽，不僅在於作品留存於世，更在於創作者以一生所凝聚的信念，穿越時間，成為後人得以仰望的精神風景。
張敬大師（1937–2025），素有「北朱銘、南張敬」之譽。年近半百之際，在神的感召下，由驗光師轉身投入雕刻，並於1986年師從雕塑大師楊英風，從此以刀斧為筆、木石為墨，走入一條屬於自己的藝術道路。其創作以大山大水為獨特語彙，融自然、土地與基督信仰於一體，作品看似簡約，實則蘊藏天地磅礴之氣與生命深沉之情。
張敬大師曾言：「自然的素材會說話。」對他而言，雕刻並非征服自然，而是傾聽自然、與自然同工的過程。一刀一斧之間，既是對木石生命的凝視，也是對天地造化的敬畏。「敬天、謝地、愛人」既是其一生奉行的信念，更成為其藝術最真摯的精神底蘊。2025年，大師蒙主恩召、安息於天家；其一生所留下的作品與典範，則如山岳般長存於臺灣藝術的土地之上。
1996年，國立臺南藝術大學承漢寶德校長之志而創立。漢校長所倡「藝術教育救國論」，深信美感不應只是藝術家的專屬，而是每一個人面對生活、土地與世界所應具備的文明素養。這份對藝術、土地與人的深切關懷，與張敬大師「敬天、謝地、愛人」的生命實踐，雖出於不同的道路，卻共同指向藝術最本質的使命——讓人重新觀看世界，也重新理解自身與天地的關係。
適逢南藝大創校三十周年，謹與張敬藝術館共同於漢寶德紀念館舉辦「別有天地——張敬創作紀念特展」。此展不僅是對一位藝術大師創作生命的追念，更是兩種精神傳統的相遇；在山水、木石與光影之間，回望張敬大師一生所走過的藝術道路，也重新凝視漢寶德校長留予南藝大的文化薪傳。
「哲人日已遠，典型在夙昔。」願張敬大師以刀斧刻寫土地、以信仰照見生命的精神，長存於臺灣藝術史的長河；亦願這份敬天愛人的初心，與南藝大「據於德、依於仁、游於藝」的人文理想相互輝映，成為我們守護藝術、承傳文化、迎向下一個三十年的不滅光芒。

《生生不息》

作者對於大自然生命力的讚嘆，巧妙的利用線條勾勒出自然的延續性及無限的循環，人亦如此，生生不息綿延不絕，以敬畏謙卑的態度刻畫出對自然的尊敬及生命的律動。
Master Chang shows his approval for the vitality of nature from the Artwork. He cleverly uses line to sketch continuity and lasting circulation of nature, and so is life wish everlasting and eternity. People portray the respect for nature and the rhythm for life with humble attitude.

《神來幽谷 MIRACULOUS VALLEY BY GOD》

作品描述臺灣太魯閣的景觀，太魯閣在時間與自然的合力作用下，結合了磅礴與靈秀，亙古的堅實山峰切鑿出絕壁深谷，是百萬年來大自然合奏的神秘交響樂章。高闊與幽靜的美感境界，是一種雄渾無限的氣勢，充分傳達大自然生命那深沉壯闊的訊息。張敬大師回想起年輕時期，在幽谷中遊走，眼裡望去盡是大自然的開闊、峽谷的鬼斧神工，在奇崛蒼勁的山谷中，猶如進入另一天地。以極簡蒼勁的刀法，呈現太魯閣剛勁犀利且氣勢雄健的風貌，並保留部分樹皮天然的質地，更顯其生命原力。俐落的大斧劈剖刀法，闊大灑脫的線條，更顯現懸崖險峻、谷中幽深之美感，實屬一件神來之作。
This artwork portrays the majestic and spiritual landscape of Taroko Gorge in Taiwan. With the effects of time and nature, the ancient peaks are now accompanied by steep cliffs and deep valleys, forming an enchanting symphony of nature over millions of years. The vast yet peaceful beauty is the result of vigorous and infinite energy, which fully conveys the profound messages from Mother Nature.As Master Chang recalls, when he was young, he once wandered in the Taroko Gorge, and stood in awe in front of the endless breadth of nature and the magical landscape of the gorge, as if he had stepped into another world.With simple but vigorous knife skills, Master Chang presents the vigorous, penetrating, and majestic landscape of the Taroko Gorge. With parts of the bark left untouched with its natural texture, the artwork further showcases the vitality of beings in nature. The clean axe-chisel knife skills along with the bold, unrestrained lines also highlight the beauty of steep cliffs and valleys, making this another masterpiece blessed by the love of God.

《恩愛 ETERNAL LOVE》

張敬大師2018年最新大作–恩愛系列，集結35年的創作功力，以簡潔、俐落的獨創刀法，傳遞夫妻之間相互關懷、包容的情感。作品中一男一女（夫妻）彼此依偎、比肩而席，底座是張大師所擅長的峭壁刀法，意喻：兩人在相處過程中難免會有一些爭論及無法解決的困境，只要彼此信任與扶持，即使遇到一些困難也能攜手突破；延長的腿部意味著：夫妻在愛的國度裡，情感綿延不絕且長長久久。
Conjugal Love Series, the master pieces of Chang Ching in 2018, are created with simple and neat carving skills to express the care, inclusion and affection for each other between a man and a woman (a beloved couple), which are the fruits of Chang Ching’s creative inspiration and skills of 35 years. In this art piece, the couple is sitting close to each other on a base frame, carved with a unique cliff-carving skill of Master Chang, to signify that even if there are some arguments and difficulties during their lives, but as long as they trust and support each other, they can overcome all the difficulties together. The extended feet of the couple imply that, being in the love of Christ, their love and affection will be continuous without ceasing.

《震撼太魯閣 AMAZING TAROKO GORGE》

臺灣太魯閣是世界級的大景觀，其千變萬化的奇妙峽谷令人讚嘆，當我們走進當中，愈能深刻體會大自然的震撼，猶如進入另一個奧妙洞天。作者以簡單俐落造型且獨特的刀法，勾勒出令人驚奇的太魯閣景觀，其無限浩瀚，讓身處其中的人物顯得相對渺小，感受那大自然的磅礴大氣：作者獨創「以小見大」的創作風格，在此作品當中完全展現無遺，實屬一件至寶之作。
Taiwan's Taroko Gorge is a world-class landscape whose valleys are an ever-changing wonder that will amaze the viewers. We are even more awestruck by nature when we walk into the valleys, because it is as if we have stepped into another world. The artist's simple and distinctive carving technique depicted the astonishing Taroko Gorge landscape, whose infinite vastness makes the figures in it appear relatively small, so that we may feel the magnificence of nature; the artists unique style of portraying the big picture with the small is on full display in this artwork, which is indeed a masterpiece.

《高境界 TRANSCENDENCY》

作者首創的「鐵角全然雕法」是累積30年創作歷練所展現的功力，讓作品表面看起來如鐵角般的堅硬。此作品不管從哪個角度欣賞都有不同的意境與風貌，意謂：人們身處在峽谷峭壁當中，讚嘆著大自然的奧妙及磅礴大氣，猶如進入到非凡境界。
